The Book of Tears
Tears that stay still for too long
that stay hidden these tears become rust. Even scientists say so. (As long as those scientists are also poets.) Tears were born to run. Let them run. Let the world see them run. And let the people you love run to you to steal your tears; to steal them for their cheeks. (Tears were born to travel between people, between cheeks. Hugs were invented to help with the trip.) Let the people you love keep your tears; water, after all, is so fragile. Let me keep the water safe as the tears exhausted finish their race. __
